Reuben Scott

And while the world screams at itself
And the peace lily faces death by drowning
And the ski fields close on their most fruitful night of snow
And the promise of free time directs me like a dance
And the dance is drunk
And the day folds with a good hand
And the weather is a cartoon cloud on the news
And the world is not overseas but over borders and seas
And the corners of our eyes bring no surprises
And the screaming carries on
And I forget what it was
The while was leading to.
