JOy Tong

Tiny Love Poem

It is witching hour:
three thirty-three.
Eyebags,
coffee cups
and flickering phone pixels from unanswered messages
are no holy trinity.

And later this morning
I will brave the winds, remember
how we’d hold hands down the street,
chins tucked like birds against the chill.
And how, when we laughed,
the balloons in our chests would inflate.
